Your study materials stay on this device by default
PocketStudy currently has no account system, cloud sync, or server-side document processing. The first release is centered on offline organization, on-device OCR, and local review reminders.
What information we handle
- Study document titles, body text, summaries, tags, and flashcards
- Review history, study streaks, study plans, and achievement history
- Reminder time, reminder strategy, daily goals, and weekly goals
How this information is handled
- Documents and review data are stored in the local database on your device
- Document scanning, OCR, summaries, and flashcard generation happen on device
- Review reminders are delivered through local notifications and do not rely on a remote server
What we do not do
- We do not require account registration
- We do not upload your study materials to a developer server
- We do not include ad SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, or cross-app tracking
- We do not sell, share, or disclose your study content to third parties
Permissions
Camera
Used to capture printed materials and perform scanning and OCR entirely on device.
Photos
Used to select existing image-based materials and perform OCR entirely on device.
Notifications
Used to send local review reminders, study-goal completion alerts, and plan feedback.
Retention and deletion
- Documents you create or import remain on the current device until you edit, archive, or delete them
- When you delete a document or flashcard, the related local content is removed from app data
- If you uninstall the app, whether local data remains depends on system backup and restore behavior
